Type the names of 4 to 6 people and get a printable book of cozy Christmas mysteries with them as the suspects. Each case is a logic-grid puzzle with exactly one answer. Nobody gets hurt: it is all Christmas mischief, like swapped gift tags.
Bought the casebook? Enter the code from page 1 of your guide PDF. No code yet? Type some names below to try the free sample case, then get the full casebook.
Your names stay on your device. The book is made by this page, in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
How many cases? Some cases have 4 suspects, some 5 and some 6. With 4 names you get 20 cases, with 5 names 32, and with 6 names all 40. Who did it is shuffled afresh for every case, so the order of the book gives nothing away: you have to solve each one. The shuffle is fixed for the names you type, so the same names always make the same book, and some people may end up the culprit more often than others.
Printing: use Letter or A4 paper at 100% scale (turn off "fit to page" if your printer adds it). Each case is two pages: the story and clues, then the grid. The answers are at the back.
Name rules: 1 to 16 characters each, counting spaces; letters, spaces, hyphens, apostrophes and full stops. A few names are refused: names that are also words used in the cases (they would make clues confusing) and names on our blocked-word list.
